Biology:
Madiza britannica has been reared from wood debris and Madiza glabra has been reared from various dung and collected on carrion, in bird's nests, and on various flowers.
Diagnostic description:
Postocellar setae only slightly converging or parallel; frons without interfrontal stripes, i.e. without an M-shaped area; lunule not extended towards lower margin of face; epistoma not extended dorsally. Anepisternum and anepimeron bare. Hind tibia not enlarged in male; hind tibia usually with tibial organ posteriorly in both sexes; first tarsomere of hind leg without a posteroventral comb of setae.
