Differs from congeners in the combination of slightly grey mesonotum, black halter, hyaline calypter and shape of surstylus.
Male coloration and vestiture: frons probably grey, frontal plates grey microtomentose (middle of frons missing), lunule black, basoflagellomere black, face greyish microtomentose, palpus black; thorax with mesonotum slightly grey microtomentose, scutellum same, pleura brown microtomentose, except for shiny spots, wing hyaline, veins hyaline, brown spot at tip of vein R1 absent, calypter hyaline, margin hyaline, halter black, legs black; abdomen with T2-5 silvery microtomentose except for black narrow posterior tip of T5.
Morphology. Head: frons with 2+1 orbital and 2 frontal setae, anterior frontal seta ?. In males frons ?x as wide at posterior margin than at base of antenna, arista about 4.3x as long as basoflagellomere wide, pubescence on arista very short, posterior eye margin with wide notch (6-7oc) and narrow emargination (1-2oc).
Thorax: 3+1 dc, 2-3 prsc, 1 pprn, 1 prs, ? keps setae, posterior prsc less than 0.8x as long as posterior dc, seta between posterior prsc and posterior dc present. Wing with vein R4+5 and M1 converging (2.4), and ultimate section of vein M1 2.2x as long as penultimate section. Fore femur normal setulose, tibial organ ?.
Male abdomen: posteromedial triangular projection of T1 into T2 present. Tergal chaetotaxy: T2 anterolateral corner with 2-3 lines of setae, T2-4 posterior margin with 1 row of scarce setulae. S5 about as long as wide, ?x as long and ?x as wide as S4, roughly triangular with posterior margin indented, setulose. Male genitalia with apical seta on cercus longer than epandrial setae, 1 seta on subepandrial plate, surstylus 0.9x as long as epandrium high, bent posteriorly, slightly dilated apically (1.3x), 5.7x as long as wide, structure of lateral surface smooth, medial surface without setulae.
